The Trades Union Congress has accused employers of failing to take their health & safety responsibilities seriously.
Now ministers are looking to spend £48m to increase the number of inspectors by 700 to meet health and safety targets over the next three years.
So we can expect an increase in the number of workplace inspections as a result

Corporate Killing Bill
Minister for safety Jane Kennedy has indicated a draft bill on corporate manslaughter will be published by the end of this year.
The government are to legislate new health & Safety duties for directors and make good its commitment to introduce a new offence of corporate killing.
